5-01-11        3:58am  Deputy Fangman made a traffic stop in the 400 block of Highway 169. Arrested for OWI 1st was Robert S. Cooper 28 of Ogden.

5-01-11        2:00pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of an injured deer at mile marker 127 on Highway 30. Deer was dispatched.

5-02-11        4:13pm  Sgt. Kendall responded to a complaint of a mail motorist who was exposing himself to other motorists in traffic on Highway 30, near the construction area West of Ames. Deputy was able to locate the vehicle and offender. Arrested for Indecent Exposure was Benjamin W. Wehrkamp 23 of Sioux Falls S.D. Investigation is continuing with other possible victims.

5-02-11        5:32pm  Sgt Kendall investigated a two vehicle accident 6.4 miles NE of Boone. Doris Welsh 50 of Boone was east  bound on 150th, while Marty E. Poling 46 of Boone was west bound, both vehicle were left of center when they struck almost head on at the crest of a hill, about 1/2 mile east of R Ave. Both drivers received just minor injuries and were not transported to a hospital. Damages were est. at $3,000.00 to Welsh's 1995 Ford Taurus, and $4,500.00 to Poling's 1989 Ford F150.

05-06-11     1:58 a.m. Deputy Hoffman conducted a traffic stop within the 1100 block of 216th Drive.  During the stop, Hoffman cited the passenger, Taylor Boude,19 of Boone for possession of marijuana.

05-06-11    Spencer Welch, 21 of Boone, was cited for reckless driving and excessive speed for the April 5th, 2011 complaint of excessive speed on Highway 30.  During the investigation of this complaint on April 5th, Deputy Godzicki was involved in a motor vehicle rollover accident.

05-07-11        1150 p.m. Deputy Gray conducted a traffic stop at the South side Kum and Go lot.  During the stop, Deputy Gray cited the occupant of the vehicle, Joshua Huffman,20 of Ames for possession of drug paraphernalia.

05-08-11    4:38 p.m. Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle roll over accident within the 1100 block of New 30.  Timothy Borck,27 of Boone,  drove off the road after being distracted.  The vehicle then struck a driveway and launched into the air and came to a rest after rolling end over end. No reportable injuries.  Borck was cited for no valid license and failure to maintain control.

05-09-11  11:02 a.m.  Deputy Godzicki investigated a single vehicle accident within the 400 block of I Ave.  Brittany Aldrich, 21 of Dayton  lost control on the gravel and rolled the vehicle into a farm field.  No injuries were reported.

05-09-11   1:45 p.m.   Deputy Godzicki and Detective Kendall arrested James Jennings, 39 of Ames on a Boone County warrant.

05-10-11    11:37 p.m.  Deputy Fangman conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Ledges State Park after hours.  The driver, Alicia Stone, 19 of Nevada was cited for possession of alcohol under age.

05-11-11  12:02 a.m.   Deputy Fangman cited Chelsea Camp, 18 of Boone for possession of alcohol underage within the Ledges State Park. 

 5-11-11    1:19pm Story County informed Boone County that they had a person in custody that was also wanted out of Boone County on a Boone County warrant. They will hold till done on their complaints. Arrested was Arther Chambers 42 of Boone. Bond $2,000.00.

5-12-11        10:00am  Cheif Deputy Elsberry executed a writ of ejectment in Madrid at 607 E. 1st. Was completed at Noon.

5-12-11        6:39pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint that a walker had located what she believed was a meth lab in a duffle bag in a ditch near 118th and Juniper Rd. Area will be cleaned up was the remnants of a lab.

5-12-11        7:08pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a 13 year old out of control at the Ledges State Park. Child was taken to a facility for evaluation by the Father.

5-12-11        10:02pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to an alarm sounding at a business in the 2300 block of 230th, was a false alarm, all secure.

5-13-11        4:17am  Deputy Fangman responded to an incomplete 911 call to a residence in the 800 block of 250th, Ogden. No problems.

5-13-11        3:51pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a 911 call of kids locked in a camper, as fighting with their Mom. Deputy spoke to all parties in the 600 block of Nature Rd.

5-14-11        1:45am  Sgt. Wingate responded to an ambulance assist in the 600 block of 219th, Ogden.

5-15-11        11:11am  Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding in the 2300 block of 259th St, Ames. Was a fire alarm, false alarm

5-16-11        6:00pm  Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of possible trespassing on private property at Owl and 315th, Woodward. 3 individuals were located Charged with trespassing was Ryan A. Claiborne 33 of Des Moines, Kevin J. Peterson 46 of Bouton, Also the 3rd person Danielle R. Oller 29 of Perry, was charged with trespassing and possession of meth, and drug parapharnilia.

5-16-11        8:22pm  Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of suspicious vehicle in the area of 240th and Moingona, Boone.  Vehicle was gone before Deputy arrived, remnants of a meth lab were located in the ditch nearby, area cleaned up investigation continuing.

5-16-11        11:18am  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a Semi trailer that was located near the corn pile in Beaver at the West Central Co-op.  After some checking and locating a VIN Number the Trailer had been reported stolen on May 9th, north of Perry near Angus. Trailer recovered and owner notified. Investigation continuing.

5-17-11        11:48am  Deputy Pontius responded to an alarm sounding at a residence in the 1500 block of 334th, Madrid. Owner notified, false alarm.

5-17-11        12:15pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to a medical assist at Seven Oaks Rec Center. Bicyclist had fallen on trail and possible broken shoulder.

5-17-11        1:53pm  Deputy Godzicki at the request of the County Attorney reported to the 3rd Floor courtroom to take into custody and arrest a Colby J. Bowers 18 of Gilbert on a Boone County warrant for violation of a protection order. Bond $5,000.00.

5-17-11        3:54pm  Deputy Pontius responded to the Greene County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Greene County on a Boone County warrant for parole violation. Taken into custody was Jesse Summerfield 29 of Grand Junction Iowa.

5-17-11        3:32pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a two vehicle accident 4 miles NW of Ogden in the 500 block of 170th. Kieth McDonald 48 of Boone was west bound on 170th [E26] going through a smoke plume coming across the roadway, when he struck the back of another west bound vehicle operated by Bonnie Suss 80 of Boone. Suss had slowed down due to the smoke, when McDonald struck here. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $4,000.00 to McDonald's 1998 Dodge Ram Pick-up, and $2,000.00 to Suss' 2001 Chevy Blazer. No citations were issued.

5-18-11        12:11pm Chief Deputy Elsberry took a report of a theft of a chainsaw, in the 1700 block of J Ave, Ogden.

5-18-11        4:32pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to 787 330th St. Woodward on a complaint of a violation of no contact order. Arrested on the protection order was Danny E. Rumbaugh 40 of Woodward.

5-19-11        8:26am  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a woman in the Madrid area who wanted to file kidnapping charges on her ex-husband for not returning her their children. Both parties spoken to and DHS will be involved and told to contact their attorneys. Children are safe.

5-19-11        11:42am  The Boone County Sheriff's Office, along with the Story County Sheriff's Office and Central Iowa Task force executed a search warrant in West Ames at 6100 West Lincolnway Lot #3, Ames.  A meth lab was located inside the Trailer Home in full operation. Kelly Fire and Ames Fire Dept where called on scene. Arrested for Conspiracy to manufacture Methamphetamine were the following. Romy Lynn Petra 44, Rodney S. Taylor 46, Nicole M. Yungclas 27, Brian L. Robertson 33, and Katelyn S. Winkler 19 all of Ames. All charged with a Class Felony. When Deputies arrived a vehicle was observed leaving the area and was stopped on Lincolnway. The Driver of that vehicle Justin J. Schrader 30 of Ames was arrested on a Boone County warrant for failure to appear, original charge driving while Suspended. then charged again for driving while Suspended today. Area was cleaned up, and investigation continuing.

5-19-11        8:52pm Deputy Fangman began an investigation of the theft of a dog from the 900 block of 22nd St. Ogden.  Investigation continued into Friday and dog was located and returned to owner. No charges filed.

5-19-11        9:58pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop Just south of Madrid on Highway 17. Driver Michael P. Kennedy 35 of Madrid was arrested for OWI 2nd, and no drivers license.

5-20-11        4:44pm  Deputy Godzicki investigated a 2 vehicle vehicle accident 3.5 miles West of Ogden on Highway 30.  Smantha M. Blackman 18 of Grand Jct. Iowa was east bound on Highway 30 west of Ogden, when she struck the back of another east bound vehicle operated by Robert Gordan 37 of Des Moines. Gordan had slowed to make a left turn. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,000.00 to Blackman's 2000 Chevy, and $1,000.00 to Gordan's 2006 Chevy. Blackman was cited for speed.

5-20-11        5:54pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the Boone County Jail to arrest an individual who had turned himself into the Jail to serve time. Came to the Jail intoxicated. Arrested fro public intoxication was Troy L. Dickerson 43 of Ogden.

5-22-11        1:05am  Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop near Hy-Vee in Boone. Driver Kelley J. Ferneau 27 of Boone was arrested for OWI 1st Offense.

5-22-11        9:40pm  Deputy Gray investigated car-deer accident 2 miles east of Luther on 270th. Angela M. Harvey 36 of Gilbert, was west bound when she struck a deer on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $2,000.00 to a 2007 Toyota.

5-22-11        11:36pm  Broadcast made after an employee of a Boone Restaurant reported that a vehicle had gone through a drive through and driver was consuming alcohol. All cars responded to the area. Vehicle was stopped by a Boone P.D. Car.

5-23-11        12:59am  Deputy Ruter investigated a Semi Roll-over accident 2 miles SE of Boone pn S Ave. [17] Lawrence A. Pooley 56 of Boone was turning onto Highway 17 from a business drive and rolled his trailer and Semi into the East ditch. Driver was air lifted to Mercy in Des Moines. Damages were est. at $20,000.00 to a 1992 Peterbuilt Semi and Trailer. Trailer was loaded with processed meats.

5-23-11        4:23am  Deputy Ruter responded to assist the Boone P.D. with an incident involving a train and employee injured between 8th St, and Argo. Boone P.D. will complete accident report.

5-23-11        4:51am  Deputy Ruter responded to 992 157th Fraser area on a call of a burglary. When Deputy arived home owner informed the Officer that a man had entered his, the occupant pulled a gun on the intruder, who then rushed him and hit the home owner and fled the scene. Ocupant of the home reported his wallett and $1,000.00 was taken.  Investigation continuing, as the intruder can be identified.

5-23-11        7:10am  Deputy Pontius responded to the new High Tressell bike trail bridge, west of Madrid. Reported was about 6 LED Lights had been vandalized. Investigation continuing.

5-23-11        8:41am  Deputy Pontius responded to the West Side Ames Hy-Vee as a Boone County Resident had located his stolen trailer in the parking lot in that location. Ames P.D. was also notified.  The trailer was reported stolen on January 22, 2010 in Eastern Boone County.  Trailer was recovered, and was in possession of another Ames man who had purchased the trailer on Craigslist. Investigation is continuing.

5-23-11        2:25pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a single vehicle accident on Highway 17 just north of Luther. State patrol will cover the accident. One person injured operating was air lifted to a Des Moines Hospital.

5-24-11        8:22am  Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident 1/2 mile west of Slater on Highway 210. David L. Ray 19 of Madrid was west bound on 210, when according to the driver he fell asleep and crossed the center line into the path of east bound vehicle operated by Linda M. Evans 44 of Madrid. No injuries were reported. Damages were est. at $1,100.00 to Ray's 1998 Chevy, and $2,500.00 to Evans' 1999 Chevy. Ray was cited for driving left of center.

5-24-11        5:01pm  Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a stalled vehicle on Highway 30 east bound in the travelled portion. Vehicle was pushed out of lanes, was located just east of Montana Rd.

5-24-11        5:01pm  Polk County informed Boone County that they had a prisoner being released on their local charges but had an outstanding Boone County warrant. We transported Thomas Ramsey 39 of Des Moines to the Boone County Jail. Probation violation bond $5,000.00 for burglary 3rd.

5-24-11        9:17pm  Deputy Gray responded to assist Boone P.D. with an individual who was reported to be suicidal south side of Boone. Individual located and taken to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation.  This male individual was later transported by the Sheriff's Office to Iowa Lutheran in Des Moines.

5-25-11        1:15pm  Sheriff Fehr exected a writ of ejectment at 2119 Cedar St, Boone.  People had already moved out and property turned over to the Owners.

5-26-11        12:33am  Deputy Gray responded to a medical assist in the 500 block of Juniper Rd, Fraser Area.

5-26-11        9:30am  Deputy Ellison responded to the Boone County Hospital to have a mental evaluated and then later transported to St Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Was completed around 4pm.

5-26-11        1:07pm  Deputy Pontius responded to the Don Williams Camp ground on a complaint by one of the tent campers that his tent was struck with flying grass from a grounds keeper mowing too close to his camp site.

5-26-11        6:40pm  Transport Officer took another mental to St Anthonys Hospital in Carroll.

5-26-11        9:11pm  Madrid P.D. called after receiving complaint of individuals tearing things up on the bike trail east of Madrid, near QF Lane.

5-26-11        11:03pm  Monitoring camera's in the Court House detected an individual on the forst floor of the Courthouse.  Boone P.D. and Deputy notified. Individual was located and turned out to be an employee.  Employee was told to contact the Comm Center when working after hours.

5-27-11        1:50am  Motion alarm set off at the Ogden High School. Ogden P.D. and Deputy responded. Everything checked out O.K.

5-27-11        1:00pm  Deputy Godzicki arrested a Cristina A. Hefler 19 of Ogden for the crime of Extorsion. An on going case that started in December of 2010.

5-27-11        7:53pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to an alarm sounding at Roto Rooter in the 2200 block of 229th Place, was a false alarm.

5-27-11        9:08pm  Deputy Fangman investigated a car-deer accident 5 miles South of Boone on 270th. Daniel R. Moore 21 of Perry was east bound when he struck a deer in the roadway, causing $6,000.00 in damages to his 2001 Cadillac. No injuries were reported.

5-27-11        10:54pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst located an open door at the Honey Creek Golf Course. Manager was notified. Everything appeared O.K.

5-28-11        12:42am  Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of a vehicl in the ditch in the 1900 block of Highway 17. Driver was located and arrested for O.W.I. 1st. Arrested was Greg D. Tully 26 of Madrid.

5-28-11        8:11am  Deputy Godzicki responded to an ambulance assist in the 1100 block of 193rd, Boone.

5-28-11        1:32pm  The Sheriff's Office received a call from the Columba University Police in Columbus Missouri, they were investigating a high speed chase of a vehicle that was registered to an Ogden Address. Investigation continuing.

5-28-11        9:03pm  Deputy Fangman investigatated a car-deer accident 1 mile East of Pilot Mound on 130th. MAry B. Owenson 48 of Dayton. Mary was west bound when she struck a deer in the roadway, causing $3,000.00 in damages to her 2006 Toyota. No injuries were reported.

5-29-11        10:04am  Deputy Godzicki responded to an ambulance assist in the 500 block of West 2nd, Boone.

5-29-11        6:10pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving recklessly south bound Highway 169 from Highway 30. Vehicle was stopped and driver Jimmy Poe Jr. 48 of Fort Dodge was arrested for Drving while License suspended, and possession fo drug parapharnilia.

5-30-11        10:45am  A Rural Woodward couple reported that there credit card number had been stolen and is being used in Cedar Falls Iowa. Theft reported at under $1,000.00. Cridet card has been cancelled.

5-30-11        12:26pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a vehicle that rolled into a ditch in the 700 block of Leaf Rd. Investigation showed that the the incident took place around 3am this morning, and driver failed to report.  Driver was located OK. Driver Brittany P. Knight 23 of Boone had been driving and lost control while west bound and rolled her vehicle into the ditch. No injuries were reported. Knight was cited for No insurance, and failure to maintain control. The vehicle a 1998 Chrysler had received $2,000.00 in damages.

 5-30-11        2:17pm  Deputy Godzicki responded to the area of the Sportsman Club along the Des Moines River, for a river rescue. Search and Rescue responded. Individuals needing help were able to speak by cell phone, that they were hung up somewhere between Opal Boat Ramp and Sportsmans boatramp. Madrid Fire also assisted. No injuries were reported, rescued and off river near the Old Hubby Bridge.

5-30-11        5:27pm  Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a tree that had fallen over the roadway 1/4 mile west of S on 100th St.  County Roads were notified.

5-31-11        8:39am  Deputy Hoffman responded to a complaint of meth lab remnants located in the 2300 block of Pecan Dr. Madrid. Area was cleaned up.

5-31-11        5:38pm  Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of 4 wheelers driving up and down the roadways on Lamb lane.

5-31-11        6:31pm  Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of a front porch that had been vandalized sometime today between 8am and 6pm. Location of incident 100 block of West 16th, Boone.
