Boone County Conservation Board Seasonal Park Aide

The Boone County Conservation Board is seeking candidates to fill 1 Seasonal Park Aide position. The selected individuals will assist in a variety of tasks associated with the management of Swede Point Campground, the High Trestle Trail, wildlife areas, and other trails managed by the Boone County Conservation Board. This position will require some weekend, night, and holiday hours as well as the opportunity to assist the conservation board Naturalist with outdoor recreational programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Preferably working towards a degree in a natural resource related field but is not required. Must be 17 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Background check and physical may be required. The ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions. The ability to operate and assist with the maintenance of various outdoor equipment.

DESCRIPTION: Seasonal position under general supervision of the Director and direct supervision of the Park Ranger. Performs mowing, weed eating, cleaning of facilities, facility and park maintenance, public relations, interaction with park visitors and other jobs as assigned.  Preferred experience in operation of equipment such as mowers, trimmers, skid loaders, tractors, chain saws and hand tools. Will work a nonstandard work week with some night, weekend and holiday work required.  May assist the county Naturalist when needed with recreational or educational programming. This is a seasonal position running from approximately May to September and will not exceed 40 hours per week.

WAGE: $14.50/hr. 40 hours per week.
