Marriage Records

Learn how to request and receive a certified marriage record.

Certified copies are available for $15.00 to persons of entitlement. Must pay with cash or check, we can only accept credit/debit cards when in person.

Available Records

Beginning July 1, 1997, certified copies of marriage certificates became available through the Recorder's Office. Marriages from 1954 to the current date are available electronically in all counties in Iowa, regardless of where the event occurred. Boone County does have some marriage records going back as far as 1851. They do not have a lot of information. They do run from then to the present.
