The Boone County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is comprised of members from emergency response agencies including fire, medical, law enforcement, hospitals, public health, and emergency management. Also involved are transportation agencies, media, industry, and community groups.
The responsibilities of the LEPC include:
Develop an emergency response plan, review it at least annually, and have the ability to provide information about chemicals in the community to citizens. Plans are developed by the LEPC with stakeholder participation.
The LEPC meets quarterly at sites throughout the county. If you would be interested in joining, attending, or participating, contact the LEPC Chair or Emergency Management.
