Additional Fees
Effective October 1, 2017, the Boone County Landfill and Transfer Station will charge a $25.00 fee for any untarped or unsecured load that enters the facility. A charge of $100 will be charged for any large vehicle, measuring 20 yards or more. This applies to all vehicles that intend to dump at the facility including construction debris, household garbage, and loose bags of garbage. This charge will be in addition to any charges for dumping. Loads must be tarped from the point of origin.
It will be the discretion of the scale attendant to determine whether a load is not secured and/or not tarped. Exceptions may be made for white goods (appliances), large pieces of furniture, electronics, and branches, which do not need to be tarped but must be secured. Trash cans with lids do not need to be tarped but must have a lid secured in order to keep trash from leaving the container.
These covered load rules are in effect in effort to reduce litter and prevent accidents and injuries.
The landfill accepts cash, check with ID, and Mastercard, Visa, or Discover, with a service charge.
